Loosing a day coming through the international date line seems as crazy as whirlpools going the opposite way .LA has just had the pleasure of MAMBOS wisdom teaching some locals the derivation of tips as in handing money over for services rendered rather than rubbish dump , LA here we come.

Heading out to Orange county the team meet up with Jen,Nick and Boris plus a plethora of American classic cars (pic quick please Nick) Agent A's cousin born in the Bailiwick of Guernsey and now officially a legal Alien of the US of Aliens, younger members of the MAMBO team did observe some unusual tendencies mainly towards finer points of 1950's car detailing highlighting to them that only Aliens would be privy to such info keep up the good work cousin!!!
Heading south the next day after a night in a Walmart Car park (yep those MAMBO members knows how to trailer park) they are invited by Tammy for a swim in her exclusive condo pool. Quite taken aback as the team were sat with the side door open having a quick cuppa t Tammy introduces her self and dished out the invite seeing as the MAMBO team are a cute regular familiy with a little book on the table.
Still things to do and the team head saurf on the 101 all the way down to Dana Point
Agent A a few years back had read Richard Henry Dana's book 'Two years before the mast' and Dana point was named after him. A great read tells of a Harvard educated young man who suffering from poor eyesight embarks on the trading ship Pilgrim from Boston around Cape Horn upto California to trade hides pelts dried fish, taking it up to SF and beyond for two years. Dana point is where hides were thrown down the cliff by the rancheros as this was still Mexico back in the early 1840's and then rowed out to the ship in gigs . When he returned and his book was published it was influential in describing California as the mass migrations had not really started by then it certainly influenced many to Go West. He shipped as an ordinary seamen and describes the hardships of being as such. He was influential in social reforms for seamen's working conditions and personally his eyesight with the simple food and hard work he believed help his eyesight improve.

Team member A is struck at the beauty of the Southern Califloras in springtime wild flowers are numerous and spectacular in colour it’s a quite pleasant experience to have left the southern Hemisphere in late autumn and arriving in the low latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere in spring bypassing winter.
MAMBO note how affluent California is but a little shocked at how built up the couple of hundred miles of coastline that they have explored, surfers are everywhere. All amenities and services are shockingly well organised you can see why so many people from developing countries want to have a slice of the action.
Lego land was beautiful mini town as the original concept in Denmark 53 years back was still a big favourite with the team and animals created from rectilinear bricks into life like 3 dimensional objects were also high up.
A lot of the staff operating the Lego rides and shows are robotic in their speil
A request of a very quick question by Agent A to Renate began a magical back room vip tour of the process of how Lego bricks are formed from granules of ABS. The MAMBO team at first were a little concerned that Agent A had caused some cultural faux pas and the whole team was being escorted off the premises never to return. Renate in a true German sense of humour carried on the joke and as the team waited as a large locked door was unlocked great concerned was flushed all over their faces. I think in truth Renate had taken to Agent A’s suave and polite manners and decided that the MAMBO team were worth a punt.

late at night through a super windy road meeting some burros along the way and then celebrating with a drink and the surreal experience of Burros trotting through the towns street. Spending the night down the valley and then back in to watch a wild west gunslingers bust up.Ye Ha.
While taking this photo Agent A had that 6th sense that some body was watching him lo and behold this wild burro stared rather menacingly and with compasion at him

The Team moisy up to Napa Valley and meet up with Rosemary and Paul and Ber and enjoy he Northern Californian air.
Some amazing Waffles with such a huge American choice of toppings with syrups the English team had not even dreamt of. Younger MAMBOS played with Lego until the lights were put out and go kart, bicycle and town planning chalk was well experimented with.

Ber the Bear named after a particularly fine Vineyard was a bundle of fun . The team though were a little confused as they all thought bears liked honey.
Back to the Land of Flowers and more noshing with Jand J and then an epic consumption of aviation fuel to reach Melbourne FL.
Kennedy Space Centre Florida
MAMBO strike it lucky by being at Cape Canaveral at the right time to witness the last launch of Endeavour into out to on to the International Space Station. Enedeavour named after James Cook's ship which notched up New Zealand Aus and the south Pacific for Great Britain.
The Team spark up their Dodge Challenger at 1.52am to head out to the Space centre for a 16 hour marathon of adventure.
